Specializing in Hematology/Oncology, Dr. Mike Cusnir has been in practice for more than 15 years. As a graduate of the Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology from the University of Maryland, Greenebaum Cancer Center (Baltimore, Maryland), oncologist Dr. Cusnir brings top notch experience in the scientific filed. Dr. Cusnir is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Medical Oncology and the American Board of Hematology.
Dr. Mike Cusnir's Committment to Integrative Medicine
Dr. Mike Cusnir is also making integrative medicine a part of his practice by graduating from the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in October of 2012. This fellowship, created by Andrew Weil, MD in 2000, has achieved international recognition as the leading integrative medical education program in the world.
He has authored and published multiple peer review articles on the field and he has also presented his research in the most prestigious American and European medical meetings.
He has completed the first clinical study of the benefits of miracle fruit for cancer patients whose chemotherapy drugs leave an unpleasant taste in their mouth. His research has gained the attention of major media outlets being featured, among many other, on CNN and The New York Times.
As an Integrative Medicine Practitioner she mentors individuals to cultivate positive health choices, through Nutrition, lifestyle and behavior adjustments. Her approach to health is taking the whole person into consideration and treating the root cause of the problem. She specializes in the prevention and treatment of disease by supporting the body’s inherent ability to heal itself.
Susan Gail Farkas is a graduate of the Acupuncture Program of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Israel, as well as a certi ed Chinese herbalist and Shiatsu therapist in Israel. She complemented her clinical studies with a practicum at the Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Zhenjiang province of the Republic of China, in the departments of Acupuncture, Massage, and TCM Internal Medicine.
She received training to practice Health Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. Certi ed by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Her patients get a clear understanding and tools to distinguish between foods that will support their health and those that threaten it. She helps them achieve optimal health through the anti-in ammatory diet and practices under those guidelines.
In addition, she encourages, teaches and supports the transition from outsourcing the food to simple home cooking, an integral part to the effort of living longer, and healthier lives.
As a therapist and educator, Susan brings compassion and dedication to her work; she considers the interaction of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of the individual when developing a customized recommendation plan.
