The berry that can restore TASTE
Synsepalum dulcificum – Miracle Fruit

Good nutrition is a process in which food is taken in and used by the body for growth, to keep the body healthy, and to repair tissue. Good nutrition is important for good health. Having the right kinds of diet before, during, and after cancer treatment is essential for the patient to feel better, stay stronger and recover faster.
One of the most common side effects of cancer treatments is poor appetite. This can cause malnutrition, lading to weakness, weight loss, exhaustion, and unable to fight infections or get through cancer treatment.Poor appetite can be caused by a changed sense of taste or smell, feeling full, tumor growth, dehydratation or the side effects of treatment.
But perhaps the most common reason is taste alteration caused by medications and radiation. Cancer sufferers while going through radiation treatment feel metallic taste and this is the reason behind their health degeneration, because of their incapacity to taste food. Therefore, losing interest in eating.

This is where a protein called Miraculin, found in the pulp of a small red berry called “Miracle fruit” , or Synsepalum dulcificum, native to West Africa can be extremely effective.  Miracle fruit has the capacity to cover up this effect, to get rid of any kind of uncomfortable taste. Miracle berries are tasteless, but they have a sweet effect on sour foods like lemon or even vinegar, this will taste sweet if they are eaten after a Miracle Fruit. This sensation occurs, because the active glycoprotein molecule called, miraculin, binds to the taste receptors altering the brain’s perception of taste. Sour becomes sweet, bitterness is diminished, and metallic off-putting flavors are masked entirely.

“What happens in patients is the food tastes so metallic and bland, it becomes repulsive,” said Dr. Mike Cusnir, a lead researcher on the project and oncologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center. “Most of the patients undergoing chemotherapy have weight loss. Then they cut further into their diet and then this furthers the weight loss. It causes malnutrition, decreased function of the body and electrolyte imbalance.”

The berry is also good for diabetic patients. It is known to contain twelve active polyphenols that help stabilize blood glucose and prevent episodes of low blood glucose in diabetic patients.

OR-Taste contains 100% pure miracle fruit powder and has a mild, sweet taste. The tablet completely dissolves after chewing. It contains a high quality and concentration of the activeglycoprotein called miraculin. This does not only makes it very safe for cancer patient, but can drastically improve the quality of life and recovery.
